The first of the two mega events for convenience operators is the £15m Lotto “Must Be Won” draw on Wednesday (23 December).
The draw was recently upgraded which means players matching two main numbers now win £5 and a lucky dip in a roll down.
That will be followed by the EuroMillions 10 UK Millionaires draw on Friday 1 January which will see guaranteed winners each picking up £1m.
Camelot claims the two big draws will deliver a sales boost for retailers of up to a 116% for Lotto and 146% for the EuroMillions event.
Retail director Jenny Blogg said: “We have two fantastic special seasonal draws lined up with millions of pounds to be won – each of which will be sure to create a great talking point with customers.
“So it’s definitely worth asking customers if they’d like a lucky dip at the till as there is so much to play for!
“With Christmas just around the corner, footfall in store is likely to increase as shoppers pick up last-minute items.
“There are things retailers can do to make sure they get extra National Lottery sales, including making sure all point-of-sale is sited, suggesting a scratchcard game to customers which they can gift to friends or family, and reminding customers to buy a ticket at the till.”
Point-of-sale to support the Lotto draw is now available and promotional material for EuroMillions will be available to retailers from 28 December.
Some 15,000 National Lottery retailers have also received special flashing dispenser lights to help boost impulse purchase of scratchcards over the festive period.
There are other bonus events for retailers over the festive period, including the “Advent Calendar” giveaway which offers cash prizes.
Retailers need to visit www.TNLRetailerHub.co.uk to open a calendar door to enter a £1,000 prize draw and they can also claim instant cash prizes.
There are other bonus events for the Lotto and EuroMillions draws, where retailers can earn £10 a draw if they upload an image of their playstation with the correct point-of-sale to the retailer hub.
Players and retailers make a huge difference to good causes across the UK raising, on average, around £30m a week.
More than £800m of National Lottery funding has been distributed across the UK to help tackle the impact of coronavirus, including more than £400m to support the most vulnerable people in communities.
